We use sonar sensors mounted within each dumpster and advanced data analytics to track waste volume and verify collections. Our proprietary dispatch system and dedicated team of waste specialists monitor sensors multiple times each day, catching anomalies and interfacing directly with haulers.

Dispatch Services

In conjunction with our dumpster monitoring service, Resource Synergy has also developed dedicated software in order to provide dispatch services for our clients. This alleviates the administrative burden of interfacing with haulers and staff due to missed pickups or the need for extra service. Instead, our team utilizes our dispatch software and monitors where service is needed and/or has been missed and handles the communication on both ends. This allows for a more streamlined service and has proven to be an invaluable tool for both our clients and our team. 

In order to make this process work, our team provides the following: 

  • A phone number to receive dispatch calls.
  • An e-mail address for voicemail audio files and dispatch e-mail communications.
  • A shared file folder to store audio files, which will be made accessible to both the client and Resource Synergy.

Our team will perform the following services to ensure the process runs smoothly: 

  • Check voicemail and e-mail no less than twice per day, Monday – Friday, excluding federal holidays.
  • Save voicemail audio files to a shared file folder.
  • Generate work orders via the Resource Synergy service dispatch tool.
  • Communicate with haulers to ensure work has been completed.
  • Follow-up with custodians as necessary.

How Dumpster Monitoring Works

  1. We install sensors in each dumpster - all upfront costs and labor are covered by Resource Synergy.
  2. Ongoing monitoring and dispatch occurs - as soon as sensors are installed, our dispatch team gets to work, watching for missed collections and overflowing containers.
  3. Baseline data is collected- we monitor service schedules and volume over a multi-week period.
  4. Recommendations are developed - using advanced data analytics, we determine which dumpster sizes can be reduced and where we can eliminate hauls.
  5. Right-Sizing is implemented - all approved changes are implemented directly with haulers.
  6. Changes are verified - far too often, schedules or invoicing are not updated. Our process ensures that the forecasted savings are realized.
