CLIMATE ACTION PLANS

Helping communities respond to climate change
Creating frameworks for measuring, tracking, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adopting climate adaptation measures.

Climate Action PlaNning

A climate action plan is a framework document for measuring, tracking, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adopting climate adaptation measures. These plans typically include:

  • A greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory,
  • Establishing emissions targets,
  • Recommending measures to reduce emissions and achieve organizational goals.

These plans are becoming increasingly important as climate change continues to threaten communities across the globe, and governments are incentivizing or mandating reducing emissions. A well-crafted plan with actionable adaptation and resilience measures can serve to reduce the risks posed by climate change, improve environmental conditions, foster community wellbeing, provide cost savings, and reduce negative effects on underserved populations. Therefore, many organizations, such as tribes, local governments, businesses, and more, can benefit greatly from the creation and adoption of a climate action plan.

Climate Action Implementation

The planning process is a crucial step when striving to address the negative effects of climate change, reduce emissions, enhance environmental conditions, and improve the lives of community members. However, at Resource Synergy we are passionate about ensuring that any plans we develop are subsequently funded and implemented so that the positive impacts of these plans come to fruition. This is why our team also specializes in the implementation of carbon-reduction projects such as transitioning to electric vehicles, improving a building’s energy efficiency, reducing waste via recycling and organics collection, implementing renewable energy such as solar panels, and many more.

The services we provide in order to support the implementation of projects include the following:

  • Development and solicitation of RFPs
  • Planning and facilitating meetings with key stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Identifying and securing funding from state, federal and private organizations
  • Arranging and facilitating energy audits
  • Gathering quotes and leading site-walks with contractors
  • Community engagement and outreach
  • Assisting with workforce development
  • Developing and delivering reports ranking projects based on feasibility, wants/needs of the organization, cost, and environmental impact
