C-PACER “Fixer” Bill Signed

Washington’s Governor Jay Inslee signed a small but important bill yesterday, March 17th. SB5862 is known as a “fixer bill,” designed to correct or clarify points of previously passed legislation that were not working as intended. In this case, it relates to C-PACER financing, a powerful tool to help building owners finance energy efficiency, renewable energy, and resilience projects.

Recycling Contamination Changes

Across the state of Washington, recycling haulers are starting to charge recycling contamination fines… and they’re adding up. We recently spoke with a site in Seattle that was paying over $2,000 in contamination charges each month! Depending on where you are, what is considered contaminated will be different. Some items might be considered recyclable in one area, while not recyclable in another area.
